SPAT is very proud to continue our tradition of presenting original works and supporting emerging playwrights. RISE is the culmination of a play-writing competition conducted by SPAT, and the three short plays to be presented were selected by a panel of experienced directors. The show will be presented with scripts in hand – making it easy for anyone to have a go on stage as there is minimal short-term memory testing! If you would like to read a part in one of the plays, we invite you to come along on:
Friday 9th August – An Information Session about each play will be held at the Stanwell Park CWA Hall at 7pm, where there will be casual auditions and scripts distributed.
Saturday 17th August – There will be rehearsals during the day for everyone to practise together and the presentation of the plays will be held in the evening, starting at 7pm.
If performing isn’t your thing, simply come along and enjoy the evening on the 17th August as part of the audience. The Stanwell Park CWA are providing refreshments, BYO also fine. We look forward to a laid-back evening showcasing these new plays. The show will also feature a Q&A session with the playwrights providing a unique opportunity for the playwrights to receive feedback directly from an audience. See you there!
